There are 2,262 public schools in Wisconsin, 1,264 Elementary, 401 Middle/Jr. High, 556 High School and 41 mixed Elementary/Secondary. (Kindergartens and pre-schools are classified as elementary schools.) Of 434 Wisconsin public school districts, MPSD is the 23rd largest.

With 342 kindergarten students, Riverview school has the largest kindergarten population of any school in Wisconsin. If our 9th grade population of 410 students were attending Lincoln High School, it would be the 16th largest high school in Wisconsin, in the top 3% by size. Lincoln is the 13th largest high school based on student population in grades 10 through 12. Lincoln has the 8th largest 12th grade class among all Wisconsin schools. 18 Wisconsin school districts have 2 or more high schools (excluding non-traditional high schools). If MPSD had two 9-12 high schools of equal size, they would rank 118th and 119th by size, still in the top 25%, with 921 students attending each.
